last 2002, nodular density seen on my chest x-ray. My doctor said that i have a PTB. I was tread for almost a year. thaen during my comparative, x-ray it was found that total resolution of the said nodular density. Can i be a PTB patient again?

Yes, it's possible, but the chances are very small. Unlike other infections (such as bacterial pneumonia), TB bacteria can survive in the patient - without causing symptoms - for many years after treatment. This form of TB is called latent TB. Unfortunately, there is no way for doctors to determine if 100% of the germs have been killed after treatment. Latent TB can sometimes be reactivated in times of severe stress or illness. Reasons for this are unknown. Also, it is possible to be re-infected with TB again. This occurs when patients are exposed to others with active TB. Most cases of recurrent TB in the US are due to new infections vs. reactivation
