What is tuberculosis and what does it do

What is tuberculosis and what does it do?
My girlfriend has been diagnosed with it and her parents say that I might have it also. I have no idea what it is, and if it is very serious, my parents sure aren't telling me for fear of scaring me. I'd like to know more about it and what I should do.

It is a serious debilitating lung infection. Look it up for pete's sake. It is curable with antibiotics and is contagious, which is why you need to see a doctor.

TB, is an infectious disease caused by the mycobacterium tuberculosis. It usually attacks the lungs, but it can also affect bones, joint, the circulatory system, lymphatic system gastrointestinal system... and more... Well, Its a very serious disease, you should get tested, cause the problem is that its transmission is through saliva. and even if you dont feel sick, you can still have it, as an asymptomatic TB infection. Seek medical help fast. Good Luck Sarah P

Can you get tuberculosis from a shot that is done wrong

Can you get tuberculosis from a shot that is done wrong?
I just had a TB shot done and I'm pretty sure that the nurse did the test wrong, and instead actually gave me the shot, not under my skin, but in the muscle. I'm worried that there may be a chance that I might get TB from the shot being done wrong, Please help.

You should call the Doctors office and speak to him about your concern that the shot was given to you incorrectly. I do not believe that you can contract TB from the inoculation

yes,100%
2 :
Yes. TB is an airborne disease. If they are recovered then the only thing you risk is possibly having a positive exposure show upon a future tb skin test. After this you would have to have chest x-rays.
3 :
If they completed the six month course of treatment and were cured, there is no possibility of you contracting TB.
4 :
It is safe. Thanks for asking.
5 :
As long as he has finished his treatment for tuberculosis then there's no possibility of contracting the disease

how do u get rid of Tuberculosis naturally

how do u get rid of Tuberculosis naturally?
My husband has TB and is taking RX meds prescribed by his dr. which is an antibiotic called Cipro. He is also taking a natural product called Agaricus made from a mushroom; he is feeling better but is still contagious.

with antibiotics. i have never heard of homeopathic meds for tb. hope he recovers.
2 :
TB is a nasty infection. He can get better and lead a mostly normal life but TB has a way of reoccurring. He will have to tell all health care workers from now on that he has a history of TB. He will always have it in system. There really isn't a natural way to combat it but if he eats right, drinks plenty of fluids and exercises several times per week, he will be less likely to get sick with anything. With TB you need to be healthy. A simple chest cold can flair up the TB can come back.

I would not suggest that you stopped medicine for one moment, and that any natural remedies you may find are OK to take just so long as they don't interact with what he is already taking. You have to remember these Natural Cures that companies state they have given proof of, are just out there to make money. Where as the medical profession is there to save his life. I would be weary of Internet Companies, but then I am not you. I had 3 grandparents that died from TB, but of course back in those days our medical profession was not as advanced as it is today, and like you say it is a very contagious disease, and appears to be making a bit of a come back these days. Obviously the medical people are keeping an eye on you too and any other member of your immediate family. I wish you husband a speedy recovery and I wish you all safeness in your own healths. Good luck to you all

What are the immunization and tuberculosis requirements for a child care

What are the immunization and tuberculosis requirements for a child care?

State laws require different vacs for different states so should call the CDC and find out what you need for a day care in your state. 800/232/6348
2 :
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/laws/downloads/izlaws05-06.pdf This is a link to a PDF from the CDC that shows the requirements by state. The easiest chart to read for your needs would be page 4, the first wide column shows child care requirements, just find your state and there you have it. the following pages are by each specific vaccine, so if you are not sure about the chart you can scroll through the whole report. TB isn't required in the US usually, but if you are not from the US and live here, then it may be different, that depends. And if you don't live in the US, then i can't really help you
