Is it really uncommon to get Tuberculosis (TB) in India, Histoplasmosis in Peru and to get Anthrax in Thailand?
No all at the same time on the same person, completely separate. Just in general in those countries.

Tuberculosis can affect the skeletal system- known as Pott's Disease. You should see a doctor to diagnose the cause of your back pain. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000417.htm
3 :
Best to see your pulmonologist. Let him/her tell you not to worry.
4 :
Back pain at the level of the thoracic vertebra in between the scapular blade usually occurring after work. No cough maybe detected but most sufferers have the history of lung tuberculosis. Extremes of temperature and any stressful physical activity may aggravate the pain. Diagnosis: POTT's DISEASE (Tuberculosis of the Spine) Organ Involved: Spin (Thoracic Vertebra) Cause: Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Initial Treatment: Painkillers Advice: Tuberculosis may involve any part of the human bod from the skin down to the bones. Incomplete treatment of the lung infection may lead to dissemination of the bacteria to other parts of the body. Because of the proximity of the Thoracic Vertebra to the lungs and the common veins that drain these areas, transmission of the bactria to the spine is very common. Laboratory Exams: Chest Xray - to determine the primary focus of infection if it is still existing. Xray of the Thoracic Vertebra - to determine the extent of the bone destruction and the necessity of surgery for debridement and reconstruction. CT Scan of the Spine - to determine the involvement of the spinal cord. Definitive Treatment: Anti-TB Drugs Debridement and/or reconstruction of the spinal column

Are you allowed to swim in chlorine water when you have a Tuberculosis shot

maybe you should ask your doctor they could give you the best answer and im not being a smarty but they could help you better than here you know what i mean :)
2 :
If you like to swim, why not find a good creek, or lake to swim in? Do you know that chlorine is one of the most dangerous chemicals known to man? When ingested, it scars the artery walls, setting the stage for arterial diseases, clogging, etc. that leads to heart failure. It is not even good when it is absorbed into the skin. People think that because something is common, it's OK.
3 :
I'm gonna guess that you mean a PPD shot, which is a test to see if you have or have had TB. If I'm wrong, ignore me. It's the one where you get a small bump where they inject. The idea with that is just not to rough it up too much, it could become irritated and give a false positive reading. Swimming is about as low-contact as you can get, so it should be fine. And the chlorine won't affect it at all, the shot is underneath the skin, the chlorine shouldn't be able to get to it

How big dose the bump is from skin test for tuberculosis

How big dose the bump is from skin test for tuberculosis?

YOU SHOULDN'T GET A BUMP AT ALL GO BACK TO YOUR DOCTOR TO GET IT CHECKED.
2 :
It depends what kind of test you had. There are many different types of skin test used. Some you should get a bump like that, some you shouldn't get a bump at all. Did you have the Heaf test? Mantoux test? Tine test? Basically don't worry about it. It isn't getting infected. The reaction is normal, whatever it means.
3 :
dont freak out man, it could be a lot of things. they tell you when your given the shot not to agitate the area. if your skin was exposed to some kind of allergy or other external stimuli it could have easily caused the swelling. the only way to know for sure is to have it checked out by a qualified physician. just remember, no matter what, TB is treatable so dont sweat it. nothings saying you have it or you dont, just make an appointment and have faith. good luck
4 :
The bump will be measured when you return for your reading. If it is a certain size, then that means that you have been exposed to tuberculosis sometime in your life. If doesnt mean you have it...so dont freak out. Most people with a positive skin test turn out to be negative for TB. When I say most I mean 99.9 probably. The other minute percentage will turn out to have it. They will send you to the hospital to get a chest X-ray if it is big enough just to make sure you do not have it. Ive seen many people with positive skin tests...and none of them ended up having TB. So either way your fine.
5 :
It is not good to try to get a diagnosis from strangers online. The best thing to do is to call and ask your doctor tomorrow. You are reacting to the test, but we can't tell what kind of reaction it is, and your doctor can

what is the statistics of tuberculosis in the Philippines as of year 2009

what is the statistics of tuberculosis in the Philippines as of year 2009?
you could just give me the latest even if it's not in 2009. statistics on prevalence and incidences.
Philippines - 2 Answers

1 :
The Philippines has the world's 9th largest population of Tuberculosis patients, and Asia's 3rd largest. The National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) reported 130,000 to 140,000 TB cases, mainly discovered and treated in government health units, of which 60% are highly infectious smear-positive cases. The Philippines currently has 250,000 cases of Tuberculosis, as of the year 2009.
2 :
Of the approximately 200 countries in the whole world today, only 22 countries are still left battling tuberculosis (TB), the infectious disease caused by the pathogenic bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Among these 22 countries still infected with TB, the Philippines now ranks ninth, an improvement to its former rank at seventh in the past years. This translates to approximately 250,000 Filipinos being infected annually and with around 75 patients dying everyday from the disease. The current statistics, although an improvement from those recorded in the past years, are still quite alarming, said Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis (PhilCAT) Board of Director Dr. Jose Hesron D. Morfe. “In the past, two out of every three Filipinos would have TB in their lifetime but because of the campaign to fight the disease, we were able to bring it down by 40 percent,” Morfe said during the 2009 World TB Day Commemoration event. To date, TB remains as the sixth leading disease-related cause of mortality in the Philippines. To curb this health crisis, the government, together with public and private companies and organizations, have come up with various educational and health programs to stop the spread of the disease, especially the dreaded multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB). With regards to the latter, the Philippines ranks 8th among 27 priority countries worldwide with the highest number of MDR-TB cases. Following would be a statistical profile of the latest TB indicators on the Philippines: Global Targets for TB Control Case Detection Rate: 70% Treatment Success Rate: 85% Millennium Development Goals (MDG): to reverse TB incidence and to reduce the prevalence of and deaths due to TB by 50% by 2015. Current Status: Philippines * TB is 6th in mortality and morbidity – 2007 Report * 9th among the 22 high TB burden countries – Global TB Control Report 2009 (two ranks lower than in 1998) * 8th among 27 priority countries worldwide with highest number of Multi-drug Resistant TB (MDR-TB) case

How can you make Tuberculosis a Debatable topic

How can you make Tuberculosis a Debatable topic?
What are the Pros & Cons of TB?
Respiratory Diseases - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
There are no pros to having TB. Try watching people die of it and you will see that for yourself.
2 :
How about, "Is TB a considerable cause of concern in our working and schooling environments today?" This allows for debate as to whether the disease has been eradicated completely. It also allows for discussion on the mandatory TB screenings for daycare workers, nurses, and similar.
3 :
A huge problem with TB is the length of the treatment and people being forced to stay on the treatment (They even locked up a man because he refused to) So, can someone infected with TB be forced to take their medication, even if it means locking them up The reason why TB is so important to get treated for is that it's highly contagious and there are some strains of TB that are resistant to almost every antibiotic. The problem is that some of the people that get TB don't care to get treated because they feel fine or because it requires going to the doctors every day. NOT fun.. anyways best of luck with your debate
